Examine the function, operation and diagnosis of Bosch CIS Jetronic, Lambda and electronic KE fuel injection systems.

  • K-Jetronic Systems
    • Examine the function, operation and diagnosis of fuel supply system components including the fuel metering and mixture adaptation circuits.
    • Teach technicians about the fuel pump, pressure relief valve and check valve, accumulator, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, airflow sensor, fuel distributor, fuel injectors, thermotime switch, cold start injector, warmup regulator and auxiliary air valve.
    • Adjust the throttle plate stop, CO and curb idle speed.
    • Examine closed loop operation, and the various modes of open loop operation.
    • Demonstrate how the fuel distributor works in the lambda system.
    • Diagnose and adjust the lambda system: interpret dwell readings, adjust CO mixture, test the temperature switch, O2 sensor and wide open throttle switch.
  • KE (Electronic) System
    • Explain the design differences in the KE system
    • Examine component operation for the electrohydraulic pressure actuator, external system pressure regulator, coolant temperature sensor, sensor plate potentiometer, throttle valve switch, and the rotary idle actuator.
