This course provides a student with basic information related to the information available on a generic OBD-II scan tool, and basic procedures used during an OBD-II Diagnostic Check (generic I/M OBD-II check). The OBD-II strategies module illustrates examples of how malfunctions affect the OBD-II system, reinforcing the use of the scan tool and diagnostic check.

• Learn how to use freeze frame, record and playback features, along with bidirectional control
• Get a full understanding of diagnosing a driveability failure with scan data
• Perform exercises in class that reinforce these diagnostic strategies
