Since the beginning of CAAT, Mettner has established himself as an integral member of the organization. Mettners background added a necessary perspective to the purpose and need of the organization. Most of his career has been spent in the automotive service business, in positions such as manager of four large auto centers in the midwest. Hes held the positions of automotive merchandiser for Wards and as national account manager responsible for the sale of Wells Mfg. ignition to Bridgestone/Firestone. His most challenging experience was that of owning and operating an independent Firestone store in the Chicago suburbs. In 1991 Mettner received the APAA/ATMC Grand Award for Excellence in Training. The national training program he developed and executed was for diagnosing and selling engine performance and emission repairs. As one of the charter members of MAP Motor Assurance Program Mettner co-chaired the engine performance Uniform Inspection Committee which developed standards for the service provider industry. |
